It takes 25 images to produce a single second of film. In other words, an animation doesn’t just fall out of the sky. DPI uses powerful software, which among other things helps keep the budget within rational limits. But this is where rationality ends, because an animation brings to life a world that does not exist. And that is what makes animation such a fantastic medium – it is highly convincing, especially in 3D.
